About The Position

The Executive Director of Samba Recovery will play a defining role in launching and shaping a newly renovated inpatient detox and residential substance use treatment center in Jonesboro, GA. This leader will be responsible for establishing the facility’s identity, reputation, and operational excellence while serving as the primary ambassador to the community, referral partners, and key stakeholders.
This role requires a hands-on, highly engaged executive who can build systems, recruit and inspire a high-performing team, and foster a culture rooted in compassion, accountability, and clinical excellence. Working closely with ownership and clinical leadership, the Executive Director will guide the strategic direction of Samba Recovery, ensuring regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and the delivery of high-quality, ethical care to individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders.
This position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced behavioral healthcare leader to build a premier treatment program from the ground up. From day one, the Executive Director will have the autonomy to shape operations, define organizational culture, and influence every aspect of care delivery in a brand-new, thoughtfully renovated facility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred in social work, counseling, human services, healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of management and/or supervisory experience in a mental health or substance use treatment environment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with measurable organizational results.
• Strong background in for-profit substance use treatment, including programs funded by commercial insurance and/or private pay.
• Experience in startup or newly opening facilities preferred.
• Experience with state licensing requirements, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards (Georgia DBHDD and The Joint Commission experience strongly preferred).
