Position Summary: POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director is responsible for all chapter operations including financial management, staff management and volunteer leadership, ensuring that strategies align with the Foundation's overall mission. Ensures a focus on individual giving, including major giving, annual fund, and bequests to diversify and strengthen the chapter's funding sources.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 or more years of related non-profit experience.
  • Minimum of 4 - 6 years of staff management, supervisory or leadership experience, including prior experience coaching, supervising, directing, and developing staff.
  • Special event fundraising and individual giving experience, including securing large gifts from major donors and corporate sponsors, proven sales results, and strong stewardship experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written), embraces diversity, and models the values of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and keep organized to ensure timely and accurate work.
  • Ability to prepare budgets, projections, and reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong professional ethics, which include approaching others tactfully.
  • Work nights and weekends, as necessary.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to meetings or events.
  • Sitting, bending, reaching, and walking.
  • Some heavy lifting may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement multi-year strategic plan for the chapter including fundraising and financial management, donor and volunteer and relationships, community engagement, operations, and staffing.
  • Lead and manage the chapter staff through demonstration of leadership competencies including hiring, retaining, developing, and managing performance.
  • Foster a positive work environment and culture to drive strong employee engagement.
  • Accountable for developing, managing and achieving the chapter's fundraising and operating budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and growth, remaining compliant with Foundation policies and procedures, and adherence to financial goals.
  • Demonstrates proficiency and utilization of systems, reports and other data to measure progress, drive accountability, and decision making to achieve goals.
  • Identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, community members, and care centers.
  • Maintains working knowledge of the Foundation’s offerings to connect community members to relevant programs, services, and resources.
  • Expand our reach within the local market by actively engaging the local community to promote fundraising opportunities, raise awareness about engagement and support opportunities, as well as education on cystic fibrosis and the CF Foundation.
  • Collaborates with other chapters within the area, region and throughout the Field to coordinate and support the organization and department goals, core activities and priorities within the chapter, acting as a transparent and credible conduit of information and feedback within their chapter and the area.
  • Drive transparency, adaptability and change management within the chapter to meet the changing needs of the Foundation and the community.
  • Promote, advocate, model and incorporate key initiatives and Foundation’s core values.
