Maplewood Senior Living is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Executive Director to lead one of our premier communities in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts. This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned professional who is passionate about operational excellence, resident experience, and team development within senior living. About the Role The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, financial health, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction of the community. You will oversee all department heads, ensure high-quality service delivery, drive occupancy and revenue, and foster a strong, engaged workplace culture. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and partners closely with Sales, Resident Services, and corporate leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience in senior living, healthcare, or human services management)
  • Proven leadership experience in senior living, hospitality, healthcare, or housing management
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and occupancy
  • Demonstrated success building referral relationships and driving sales
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and public relations skills
  • Experience working with seniors strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Community & Financial Leadership Lead and mentor all department heads, promoting accountability, collaboration, and performance excellence
  • Oversee budgets, financial reporting, and variance explanations; ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Drive occupancy, revenue growth, and ancillary income opportunities
  • Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable
  • Maintain accurate and timely use of YARDI systems
  • Meet monthly budget and operational targets
  • Compliance & Operations Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain survey readiness through regular audits, policy updates, and documentation reviews
  • Uphold environmental, safety, and operational standards at all times
  • Ensure the community consistently presents a positive first impression
  • Resident Experience & Care Ensure delivery of high-quality, resident-centered services
  • Protect and educate residents, families, and staff on resident rights
  • Serve as liaison between residents, families, associates, and management
  • Respond promptly and professionally to concerns and requests
  • Partner with Sales and Resident Services to ensure seamless move-ins and service plan execution
  • Sales & Market Presence Actively support lead generation, sales efforts, and closing activities
  • Collaborate with department heads to support Marketing and Sales Action Plans
  • Represent Maplewood Senior Living in the local community
  • Conduct ongoing competitive market analysis to inform strategy and positioning
