About the position

The Executive Director for Pine Bluff Downtown Development, Inc. will lead the organization in its mission to revitalize downtown Pine Bluff through strategic planning, community engagement, and resource development. This role involves overseeing daily operations, implementing policies, managing financial resources, and fostering relationships with stakeholders to enhance the organization's impact on the community and region.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the implementation of the Main Street Four Point approach to Downtown Revitalization.
  • Develop, manage, and implement a comprehensive resource development plan for the organization.
  • Coordinate the activities of the Main Street program's committees, ensuring effective communication among committees and volunteers.
  • Facilitate communication and outreach to the Board of Directors, city committees, volunteers, property and business owners, and government agencies.
  • Manage all administrative aspects of the Main Street program, including budget development, grant writing, and compliance with regulations.
  • Develop downtown economic revitalization strategies in conjunction with the Board of Directors.
  • Conduct public awareness and education programs to enhance appreciation of downtown's unique character.
  • Maintain a database system to track the progress of revitalization efforts.
  • Assess the management capacity of Pine Bluff's downtown district and encourage improvements.
  • Coordinate joint promotional events to attract people to downtown and ensure media coverage.
  • Build collaborative relationships with staff and public agencies at local and state levels.
  • Represent the organization to important constituencies at local, state, and national levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred, ideally in business, public relations, planning, marketing, or a related field.
  • Three to four years of experience in public relations, planning, public administration, fundraising, marketing, community organizing, nonprofit administration, or small business development.
  • Strong grant development and writing skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage across community platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.

  • Experience with website and social media management.
