About The Position
The Decatur Area Arts Council (DAAC) is a non-profit organization located in Decatur, Illinois, dedicated to inspiring creative experiences that transform the community. The organization is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to fill the role of Executive Director. This position is crucial for the health and advancement of the arts within the community, and the Executive Director will report directly to the Board of Directors. The successful candidate will lead the DAAC team in various initiatives aimed at enhancing arts educational opportunities, promoting partnerships within the community, and increasing access to the arts for all residents, particularly culturally diverse and underserved populations. Fundraising is a key component of this position, as the Executive Director will need to secure financial support through proposals, grants, and major gift solicitations. Additionally, the Executive Director will serve as the public face of DAAC, overseeing marketing efforts and media relations to enhance the organization's visibility and support. Financial management is another critical aspect of the role, as the Executive Director will draft annual budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure compliance with all legal obligations. The position also involves strategic planning in collaboration with the Board of Directors to create and implement long-range plans for the organization. The Executive Director will present timely reports to the Board and recommend policies to ensure effective operations.
