About The Position

The Executive Director of the Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board, Inc. is responsible for administering policies and providing overall direction for the organization. This role encompasses financial management, operational leadership, and advocacy for workforce development issues in the region. The Executive Director will serve as the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer, ensuring that organizational goals are met and that the workforce development needs of the community are addressed effectively.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of supervisory experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to workforce development is required; master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in grant writing and interacting with funders is preferred.
  • Understanding of federal grants management and Uniform Guidance is preferred.

  • Experience working for a Workforce Development or Non-Profit organization preferred.
  • Record of effectively leading successful staff with measurable activities.
  • Strong marketing and public relations skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer policies and provide overall direction for the Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board, Inc.
  • Manage financial activities including budgeting, auditing, and grant execution.
  • Provide executive-level leadership to the Board of Directors on workforce development issues.
  • Advocate for the organization at all levels, both externally and internally.
  • Develop and maintain continuous marketing direction for the organization.
  • Set organizational goals and ensure they are met and understood by staff.
  • Develop, manage, and measure performance standards for staff and programs.
  • Serve as Equal Opportunity Officer in compliance with Section 188.
  • Support the Board in regional workforce development leadership and strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws for Non-Profit and Local Workforce Development Board.
