About The Position

TMZ is seeking an Executive Director to lead the TMZ Celebrity Tour. In this role, you will oversee all facets of the Tour, including content, strategy, operations, and growth. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a track record of success in managing a travel or tourism-focused business within a larger organization. We're looking for an exceptional manager and communicator, skilled at solving problems and exercising sound judgement in dynamic situations. The position requires office work in Playa Vista and field work in Hollywood, CA.

Requirements

  • 5+ years senior management experience in a consumer-facing business.
  • Proven experience in guest services, sales, and marketing.
  • Deep understanding of complex operational management processes.
  • Experience in team building and personnel management.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and development skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent prioritization and goal-setting abilities.
  • Previous success in managing a small business unit or department.
  • Knowledgeable in areas such as accounting (budgeting and finance), legal compliance, loss prevention, employee relations, and labor law.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., spreadsheets, Google Docs, data and scheduling tools).
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Familiarity with the TMZ brand and an interest in pop culture and celebrity news.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of TMZ's Tour business.
  • Achieve growth targets and drive overall business expansion.
  • Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) statement and ensure financial health.
  • Oversee Tour content, delivery, and quality to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Supervise operations, sales, marketing, and staff functions.
  • Management of the Tour staff.
  • Manage partner and vendor relationships, and review agreements.
  • Develop an annual operating budget with ridership projections.
  • Develop and track annual revenue and expense projections.
  • Analyze data and metrics to drive performance improvements.
  • Identify, develop, and monitor new product and growth opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet business needs.
