The Executive Director of Statistical Programming at our company is a key leadership role within the Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences (BARDS) department. This position is responsible for overseeing a team of statistical programmers who support clinical development projects across various business areas. The Executive Director will establish strategic and operational objectives, foster collaboration with stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of high-quality programming solutions that meet regulatory standards. This role requires a strong focus on team management, innovation, and effective communication across diverse teams.

  • Determine the BARDS analysis and reporting programming strategy for early-stage development projects.
  • Manage a team of statistical programmers, including recruitment, performance reviews, and talent management.
  • Engage in shaping the department's vision and strategy as part of the Statistical Programming Leadership team.
  • Stay current with regulatory guidance and submission standards.
  • Manage the team's headcount and budget, engaging with vendors for programming resources.
  • Lead departmental and strategic initiative projects, developing long-term and annual objectives.
  • Participate in external industry initiatives and engage with thought leaders.
  • Master's degree in statistics, computer science, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in statistical programming or related activities in a pharmaceutical development environment.
  • At least 5 years of management experience at the Director level.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis and reporting, pharmaceutical development, and compliance.
  • Experience managing a team of statistical programmers and developing programming deliverables.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience collaborating in a global environment.
  • Superior knowledge in setting strategy for efficient analysis and reporting deliverables.
  • Ability to drive results in complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Solid experience with reporting processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in leading teams through technological advancements and changing requirements.
