About The Position

The Executive Director, Pipeline Project Leadership at Legend Biotech is responsible for creating and leading project development teams focused on cell therapies and related modalities. This role involves setting strategic goals, integrating key functions, and ensuring the timely delivery of projects from development to commercial launch. The position requires strong leadership in product development and team management within a collaborative and patient-focused environment.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) or equivalent
• 15 years of industry experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting
• Demonstrated leadership in a project management and/or supervisory role
• Experience with development of autologous or allogeneic cell therapies and viral vectors
• Strong grasp of science with analytical skills for data-based decision making
• Demonstrated proficiency in drug development and awareness of CMC challenges
• Robust understanding of regulatory considerations in product development
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and solving complex problems
• Excellent leadership, emotional intelligence, and communication skills
• Creative, strategic thinking
• Composure during challenging times
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Language: English; Mandarin is a plus

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead cross-functional project teams for each endorsed project
• Lead cross-functional teams in establishing a cohesive integrated development strategy and fostering a collaborative team dynamic
• Implement effective project leadership and management methodologies for timely delivery of results
• Identify cross-functional dependencies and facilitate timely resolution to achieve desired outcomes
• Enable effective decision making with clear risks, mitigations, and go/no-go criteria
• Lead teams in preparation and execution of comprehensive development plans and associated documents
• Mentor and develop future talent from technical functions
• Collaborate with project manager to create and adjust aggressive timeline strategies
• Proactively monitor project goals and communicate progress to senior leadership
• Function as a single point of accountability for each project
• Adjust project strategies to changing company priorities
• Ensure high quality project execution in collaboration with project manager
• Direct the advancement of each project through governance endorsement
• Maintain awareness of competitive landscape and adapt project approaches
• Collaborate with project management office to evolve company processes for product development
• Establish a collaborative, science-based, agile, and patient-focused culture for each project team
• Contribute to portfolio vision and prioritization
• Resolve conflict and proactively identify performance issues
