This role offers the opportunity to shape and strengthen physical security across one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems. The Executive Director of Physical Security plays a critical leadership role in protecting patients, caregivers, visitors, and assets while advancing a consistent, risk ‑ informed, and enterprise ‑ aligned security strategy across Providence. The Role The Executive Director of Physical Security reports to the SVP, Chief Real Estate Officer and provides strategic leadership, direction, and long ‑ range planning for the Physical Security service line across Providence. This role has direct oversight of internal investigators and analysts and is responsible for managing, and in some cases overseeing, external investigators retained for specific matters. The Executive Director works collaboratively with operational areas across the enterprise—including Real Estate, Operations, Clinical Care, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and others—to provide guidance and oversight related to physical security policies, standards, processes, training, and consultative services. The role is accountable for the continued development and execution of physical security strategy, enterprise alignment of initiatives and projects, and the establishment of consistent practices across the organization. This position leads the Physical Security Council, comprised of regional physical security leaders, to ensure inclusive development, communication, and implementation of policies, standards, and best practices. The role is also responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise reporting, analytics, and governance structures to ensure physical security services are appropriately designed, documented, communicated, and continuously improved.
