About The Position

The Executive Director - Oncology Early Development Leader at GSK is a pivotal role responsible for leading the development of oncology medicines from candidate selection through proof of concept. This position involves strategic leadership, collaboration with various stakeholders, and ensuring the successful progression of oncology assets in alignment with GSK's organizational strategy. The EDL will also build a strong internal and external network, establishing themselves as an authority in oncology research and development.

Requirements

  • Experience in oncology clinical development, particularly in early-stage oncology.
  • Ability to translate pre-clinical data into clinical development programs.
  • Experience managing and developing teams in a matrix environment.
  • End-to-end clinical development exposure and accountability for strategic planning through proof of concept.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree such as MD, PhD, or PharmD is highly preferable.
  • Three or more years of experience leading oncology development programs with regulatory filing experience.
  • Experience in late-stage clinical development programs.
  • Experience in commercial product launch activities.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership and accountability for the development of oncology assets from candidate selection through proof of concept.
  • Establishing development strategies aligned with the Medicine Profile, incorporating input from various stakeholders.
  • Making evidence-based decisions regarding the progression of oncology assets based on strategic goals.
  • Engaging with the external community to advance scientific and medical understanding.
  • Ensuring timely communication and information exchange between GSK and external stakeholders, adhering to GSK policies.
  • Identifying unique regulatory requirements for early-stage development and ensuring compliance.
  • Anticipating changes in the healthcare environment and developing innovative strategies to generate evidence for product positioning.
  • Partnering with Business Development for diligence reviews and product positioning as necessary.
