About The Position

Provides leadership and strategic direction for the district's K-5 instructional program, curriculum development and assessment practices. Oversees the district's gifted education program K-8, guidance program K-12, K-12 literacy program, and all virtual learning. The Executive Director must have excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships with diverse groups.

Requirements

  • The Executive Director must possess at least five (5) years of successful administrative experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of complex organizational structures, effective policy implementation, and strategic management.
  • This includes a proven track record of effectively managing budgets, supervising and evaluating personnel and large-scale projects, with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving measurable results in an educational setting.
  • Furthermore, the Executive Director must have extensive knowledge of curriculum and instruction development and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and support for the school improvement process.
  • Evaluates and assists with the implementation of educational programs and curriculum.
  • Supports the implementation of District priorities and Continuous School Improvement including Multi Tiered Systems of Support, Professional Learning Communities and Leader In Me.
  • Assists the Assistant Superintendent with developing and implementing an on-going evaluation program for all instructional programs in the district.
  • Must have knowledge of current educational research, components of elementary programming, and best practices for instruction.
  • Provides leadership and support to elementary building administrators through collaborative planning, professional development, coaching, school improvement planning and regular communication.
  • Conducts annual performance evaluations of building administrators.
  • Develops and supervises elementary curriculum coordinators by setting goals and providing regular feedback and conducting annual performance evaluations
  • Works in conjunction with full-time and part-time curriculum coordinators to oversee the curriculum development and writing process.
  • Works with district office staff to maintain and update the Curriculum and Instruction webpage on the district website
  • Remains current on educational research by engaging in professional development activities, professional reading, and peer collaboration.
  • Analyzes and monitors student and staff instructional data.
  • Collaborates with building leaders to drive strong academic outcomes for students.
  • Works in conjunction with the Director of SIS and Data Management to oversee all core data reporting and collection at the elementary level.
  • Leads the Instructional Coaches at the Elementary level.
  • Monitors effectiveness of instructional coaching in elementary buildings.
  • Oversees the district's K-8 Gifted Education program, including comprehensive coordination and administration of all assessment and identification processes.
  • Oversees the district's K-12 Virtual Program, the secondary Virtual Summer School Program as well as oversight of MOCAP inquiries, placements, and compliance.
  • Oversees the district's K-12 Literacy Program and maintains up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Implements and monitors reimbursement claims in state funding related to the district's literacy program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
