About The Position

The Executive Director of School-Based Programs at the YMCA provides strategic leadership and oversight for all school-based initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization's focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This role involves managing and expanding key programs such as afterschool care and summer day camps, while ensuring high-quality experiences that meet community needs and contribute to the YMCA's mission. The Executive Director will also lead relationship-building with community partners to ensure accessibility for all children.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, youth development, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience in youth programming, school partnerships, or education, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale youth programs and building successful partnerships with school districts.
  • Strong financial management skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for all YMCA school-based programs, ensuring alignment with YMCA goals and community needs.
  • Develop and implement innovative, high-quality programs such as afterschool care, tutoring, and school-based summer day camps.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, implementing necessary improvements.
  • Foster relationships with school district leaders, educators, and community stakeholders to enhance program offerings and partnerships.
  • Work with Senior Leaders to develop and execute a strategic plan to grow and strengthen school-based programs.
  • Stay current on educational trends and youth development best practices.
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, evaluate, and recognize staff and volunteers in assigned areas.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor operating budgets for school-based programs, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with local school districts and community organizations.
  • Monitor and assess the quality of all school-based programs, ensuring they meet YMCA standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including child safety and health protocols.
