About The Position

The Executive Director of Player Acquisition serves as a senior leader within the Football Program, responsible for designing, managing, and executing comprehensive player-personnel strategies. This role works directly with the Head Coach, Athletic Department, General Manager, and Department of Athletics leadership to support roster construction, talent acquisition, student-athlete retention, and long-term player personnel planning. The position requires advanced expertise in player evaluation, market assessment, player personnel operations, and strategic decision-making. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • At least 6 years’ experience working in player personnel, scouting, roster management, or football operations at the collegiate or professional level
  • Experience working within compliance frameworks, including NCAA and conference regulations
  • Deep understanding of NCAA regulations, SEC policies, NIL frameworks, and student-athlete revenue-share guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of roster construction principles, positional markets, and competitive benchmarks
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Expert-level talent evaluation skills supported by film analysis, data interpretation, and live scouting
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to produce actionable evaluation reports
  • Ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Sport Management, Business, Analytics, or related field
  • At lease one or more years of player-personnel experience within a Power Five program or professional football organization
  • Advanced expertise in data analytics platforms, scouting systems, and personnel databases
  • Prior experience contributing to roster strategy, NIL decision-making, or student-athlete valuation models
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with coaches, administrators, and athlete representatives in high-stakes personnel decisions
