About The Position

The Executive Director of Group Reservations at MGM Resorts International is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for group housing needs related to conventions and events. This role focuses on developing strong customer relationships, leading a high-performing team, and driving operational excellence to meet business objectives. The position requires collaboration with various departments to ensure a seamless group reservations experience while upholding customer service standards and fostering a culture of teamwork and diversity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in hospitality, business management, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in hotel operations management and/or group reservations management.
  • Prior experience in a similar hotel or resort setting, preferably with a focus on group sales or event coordination.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, demonstrating sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a commitment to delivering a seamless guest experience.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for departmental operations aligned with Borgata's vision and strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Hotel Operations, Revenue Management, and senior leadership to deliver a seamless group reservations experience.
  • Partner with the Director of Revenue Management to optimize rates, market mix, and group block reviews.
  • Manage fiscal budgets, operational strategies, and system enhancements in collaboration with IT to drive profitability.
  • Oversee the Direct Marketing Strategy Manager to leverage data-driven campaign segmentation and maximize group marketing through Passkey.
  • Lead Human Resources functions, fostering a culture of teamwork, performance, and diversity, while ensuring quality hiring, training, and succession planning.
  • Uphold customer service standards by resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Drive innovation by researching and implementing new products, services, and technologies to maintain Borgata's competitive edge.
