About the position

The Executive Director of Development coordinates fundraising activities at Morgan Community College at all locations the college serves. The Executive Director of Development is responsible for activities as adopted by the Foundation Board and is accountable for developing and maintaining active and productive relationships with board members, donors, and administrators. Specific fundraising activities include major gifts, planned-giving, annual giving, endowments, annual Gala, and special development projects. The Executive Director of Development is also responsible for the management of the MCC Development Office including supervision of staff. The Executive Director will perform their duties while demonstrating the Guiding Principles in everything they do.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate fundraising activities at all locations served by Morgan Community College.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with board members, donors, and administrators.
  • Manage major gifts, planned-giving, annual giving, endowments, and special development projects.
  • Supervise staff within the MCC Development Office.
  • Demonstrate the Guiding Principles in all activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in business, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Experience in fundraising in a non-profit organization.
  • Financial or accounting knowledge and/or experience.
  • Excellent public speaking, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop good working relationships.
  • Enthusiasm and a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Ability to work as a leader and as part of a team.
  • Current, valid Colorado driver's license with the ability to travel as necessary.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours as necessitated by special projects.
