About The Position

The Executive Director (ED) will lead and manage the organization, planning and implementation of the major gifts program, leadership annual giving, planned giving and campaign initiatives. The ED works closely with the VP of Institutional Advancement and the SPC Foundation Board of Directors to ensure all development activities are strategically advancing major gifts for the betterment of the College.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of fundraising and supervisory experience in a leadership role, preferably in higher education.
  • Proven track record of success in fundraising.
  • Campaign fundraising experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of donor moves management system and fundraising principles.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning principles, goal setting and accountability systems.
  • Experience executing gift agreements for endowments, developing proposals and other written donor documents.
  • Experience in prospect research, cultivation and stewardship.
  • Understanding of higher education system policy and procedures.
  • A clear understanding of the history of SPC, its mission and objectives, and an appreciation for its long-standing role in the community.

  • Ability to identify new prospects for SPC and fully engage with the College.
  • Ability to translate College-wide priorities into strategic fundraising plans.
  • Proven leadership skills and managerial expertise with the ability to motivate and empower direct and indirect reports to achieve priorities and fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary liaison to the SPC Foundation Board of Directors Development Committee to plan, organize, and implement fundraising engagement opportunities.
  • Plan and implement an overall fundraising plan for Foundation Development team with strategies for donor identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
  • Diversify fundraising and respond to the growing needs of the College.
  • Manage a personal portfolio of prospects and donors in every stage of the major gifts cycle with a focus on building relationships.
  • Grow the major gifts and leadership annual giving programs.
  • Build the planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts.
  • Collaborate with ED of Advancement Services and Marketing with the creation of publications and press releases to support and steward fundraising activities.
  • Collaborate with ED of Grants for joint fundraising opportunities.
  • Maintain a rigorous schedule of engaging existing and new donors.
  • Actively be engaged in community events to represent SPC and the Foundation.
  • Work closely with other college departments to understand departmental needs and work with donors to match funding to needs.
  • Develop key performance indicators and assess outcomes for departmental initiatives and activities working closely with the Database Administrator.
  • Prepare quantitative reports and documents for the purpose of reviewing goals, objectives, and the evaluation of the Institutional Advancement planning process.
  • Coordinate major gift donor engagement opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
