The Executive Director of Bilingual Education and World Languages is a critical member of an integrated instructional team in the Division of Teaching and Learning. They exercise significant discretion and independent decision-making authority and advises the Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning regarding policies and protocols developed to ensure that all schools are addressing the diverse educational needs of all students. The Executive Director of Bilingual Education and World Languages provides intellectual and administrative leadership by catalyzing, leading, and participating in collaborative, interdisciplinary research and action-oriented results to support student achievement. They will work closely with Principals being held accountable for their schools success in meeting cumulative performance targets in all critical areas while engendering high levels of Principal satisfaction with services provided. The Executive Director of Bilingual Education and World Languages will work collaboratively with various Central Office departments to identify and select highly qualified, exceptional teachers; collect and analyze data for instructional improvements; seek external funding; and meet all Federal, State, and funding sources reporting requirements. The Executive Director of Bilingual Education and World Languages provides leadership to the development and implementation of District standards, instructional initiatives, curriculum, and professional development for English Language Learners.
