About The Position

The Executive Director of Non-Gaming Audit and Accounting is responsible for the development, implementation, and control of the department's strategic goals and objectives while developing a leading, scalable shared service model. They have oversight of a comprehensive non-gaming audit and accounting function with responsibility for accounting and financial reporting strategy, processes, procedures, and practices. They oversee departmental and functional procedures, internal controls, and reporting to ensure conformity with company procedures, corporate policies, and state and federal regulations and statutes while directing specific areas within the overall Non-Gaming Audit and Accounting department.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and brings 4+ years of relevant operational experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • They set direction and make informed decisions that enhance financial and operational performance.
  • They demonstrate highly effective critical thinking skills and actively seeks out and leverages information and data to inform business strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains deep knowledge of finance concepts, standards, principles, and technology, applying best practices and industry trends to guide sound decisions.
  • Serves as a Finance thought leader, supporting the strategic vision of MGM Resorts FSSC and partnering with leaders to set direction.
  • Influences people, processes, and resources while building trusting relationships with business leaders.
  • Communicates financial concepts clearly, thinks analytically, and balances big-picture perspective with attention to detail.
  • Understands business operations and the upstream/downstream impact on Finance, adapting to shifting priorities while executing departmental strategies.
  • Directs Non-Gaming Audit and Accounting operations, budgets, processes, and strategies across multiple properties.
  • Oversees the research, development, and implementation of new products, services, technology, and processes to maintain competitiveness and anticipate changing needs.
  • Leads HR responsibilities, fostering teamwork, recognition, performance feedback, diversity, training, and succession planning.
  • Ensures departmental compliance with policies, laws, collective bargaining agreements, and regulatory standards.
  • Leads guest service standards, mentors staff, and promotes efficiency and high performance.
  • Oversees accurate, timely financial reporting, and responds to internal, external, and regulatory audits.
  • Analyzes financial statements and data to provide recommendations and decisions.
  • Drives shared service strategies that deliver high-quality, cost-effective support, oversees change management, and leads continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of GAAP, FASB, IFRS, general ledger reconciliations, and P&L review.
