About The Position

The Executive Director for the New Hampshire Commission on Aging is responsible for leading the organization in its mission to enhance the lives of older adults and their families in New Hampshire. This role involves strategic planning, fiscal management, and advocacy, ensuring that the Commission's policies align with the needs of the aging population. The Executive Director will oversee daily operations, develop educational programs, and serve as a liaison with state and federal agencies, promoting the Commission's initiatives and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public or business administration, healthcare, education, law, human services, or social sciences with seven years of executive management experience, or a Bachelor's degree with eight years of experience.
  • Experience in fiscal management, strategic planning, and board work.
  • Valid Driver's License or access to transportation for statewide travel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms for business promotion.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assist with the implementation of strategic plans affecting older adults.
  • Develop education and advocacy programs by leveraging relationships with organizations focused on policy research.
  • Oversee daily operations, including budget development and review, contracts, and compliance with regulations.
  • Support the Commission in developing a strategic plan and ensure adherence to policies and initiatives.
  • Evaluate state and federal regulations for their impact on the Commission's work.
  • Compile metrics and research data related to the Commission's activities; produce reports as needed.
  • Research funding opportunities and lead the writing and submission of grant proposals.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Governor's Office and the NH General Court, acting as a spokesperson for the Commission.
  • Maintain relationships with the media to promote the Commission's activities and manage public communications.
  • Ensure accessibility of meetings and events for all participants.
