Summary The Executive Director oversees the entire Freight Forwarding (FF) business across the Americas—including North, Central, and South America—while operating within a global scope directly connected to Hyundai GLOVIS HQ. This role drives business expansion, organizational leadership, P/L performance, and global network integration, while aligning closely with HQ’s strategic governance. The position operates under a defined hierarchy in which the Chief Executive Coordinator (CEC)—dispatched from HQ—is the final decision maker; therefore, continuous alignment, communication, and collaboration with the CEC and EC (Executive Coordinator) are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Business Expansion Lead the entire FF organization in the U.S. and the broader Americas region, ensuring full alignment with global strategic direction
  • Execute strategic directives issued by Hyundai GLOVIS HQ and reinforce HQ-driven governance across all FF operations
  • Develop and implement expansion strategies across targeted industries, regions, and global markets
  • Drive global account development and strengthen long-term relationships with strategic customers
  • Ensure all strategic initiatives reflect the global nature of FF operations, coordinating with teams and partners worldwide
  • Ocean, Air & Inland Freight Pricing & Network Development Utilize strong carrier relationships and deep market knowledge to secure competitive pricing across all modes
  • Negotiate strategic, margin-enhancing contracts with ocean carriers, airlines, trucking partners, and integrators
  • Continuously monitor market dynamics, service changes, geopolitical shifts, and pricing trends, integrating insights into internal planning and customer communication
  • Coordinate with HQ and overseas FF branches to expand service capabilities and develop new lanes and global trade networks
  • Sales Execution & Team Enablement Actively support the FF Business Development team in client targeting, proposal development, pricing strategies, and deal closure
  • Build and strengthen the FF sales organization, ensuring it can achieve annual business plans and revenue targets
  • Participate directly in high-value customer engagements, including cold outreach, on-site meetings, and executive-level presentations
  • Manage both existing and new customers through structured account strategies to drive retention, expansion, and cross-selling
  • Operational Oversight Oversee key operational KPIs, service quality, P/L, cost efficiency, and compliance adherence
  • Ensure that all processes follow global SOPs, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks
  • Oversee operational consistency across the Americas, ensuring alignment with global service standards and performance expectations
  • Cross-Regional & HQ Collaboration Work closely with GLOVIS HQ, dispatched leadership (CEC/EC), and global FF branches to maintain unified strategy and execution
  • Share major decisions with the CEC for review and approval, per the defined governance hierarchy
  • Collaborate with global regions to share best practices, harmonize customer delivery, and optimize network capabilities
  • Maintain strong relationships with overseas branches to facilitate seamless end-to-end global freight operations
  • Organizational Development Evaluate the current FF organization and propose structural improvements that enhance efficiency, agility, and capability
  • Identify talent needs and lead recruitment, development, and succession planning to support business expansion
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on ownership, accountability, and operational excellence
  • Reporting & Strategic Communication - Deliver regular executive-level reports covering financial results, pipeline status, operational performance, and risk outlook
  • Prepare strategic documents for HQ and CEC, including market intelligence, competitor analysis, and business recommendations
  • Ensure transparent and timely communication to support informed decision making at the corporate level.
  • Executive-Level Project Execution Lead special assignments or strategic initiatives assigned by HQ or the CEC, regardless of business unit or subject matter
  • Manage exploratory projects that support long-term FF growth, transformation, and innovation pathways
  • Industry Representation Represent GLOVIS at major logistics and supply chain conferences, forums, and professional networks
  • Build industry partnerships and promote GLOVIS’s visibility through thought leadership and external engagement.
  • Coordination with Glovis America Lead personnel within policies and infrastructure provided by Glovis America
  • Maintain communication with Glovis America for business activity
  • Coordination with Glovis America under the oversight of Glovis America CEO/CEC for business consistency, including meetings and reports format.
