About The Position

The Executive Director for Secondary Schools is responsible for providing leadership and support to the district's secondary schools, ensuring alignment with the district's strategic plan. This role focuses on optimizing resources to achieve school and district goals, building capacity, and providing leadership development and executive coaching to secondary school leaders. The ultimate aim is to enhance the instructional service delivery system to significantly increase student achievement.

Requirements

• Five years of successful experience in school administration and/or teaching experience in secondary education.
• Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
• Iowa Board of Education Examiners (BOEE) Professional Administrator License and Evaluator License.
• Strong data analysis skills.
• Experience in budgeting and succession planning.

• Experience with crisis de-escalation techniques.
• Knowledge of child development and best practices in education.
• Ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support to secondary schools in alignment with the district's strategic plan.
• Build capacity and provide leadership development to secondary school leaders.
• Optimize resources for secondary school communities to achieve school and district goals.
• Supervise, monitor, and evaluate performance of secondary principals.
• Support budget decisions and expenditures for assigned schools.
• Maintain effective communication with the Superintendent, Board, and other stakeholders.
• Promote a positive image of the district and foster collegial relationships among staff.
• Develop and implement a strategic plan for the district's secondary schools.
• Assist principals in data analysis and goal setting for school improvement plans.
• Conduct on-site observations and provide feedback to principals.

• Competitive salary range of $77.3K - $97.9K per year.
