About The Position

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding Revolutionaries in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway. The Opportunity: RevMed is seeking an experienced executive director, employment law to support RevMed’s business. The Executive Director, Employment Law will serve as the company’s senior employment law subject-matter expert and a strategic advisor on all employment-related legal issues. This role is responsible for setting the employment law strategy for a complex, highly regulated and rapidly evolving organization, while providing pragmatic, business-oriented counsel aligned with public-company obligations and risk tolerance. This role will report to the General Counsel and partner closely with Human Resources, Compliance, Finance and other senior business leaders.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 14+ years of progressively responsible employment law experience.
  • Significant experience advising public companies and executive leadership.
  • Deep expertise in U.S. employment law, including wage and hour, discrimination, retaliation, leaves, accommodations, and RIFs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-risk, high visibility matters with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Advisory Serve as the principal legal advisor on a wide range of employment law matters across the enterprise.
  • Advise senior leadership, including General Counsel, Chief Human Resources Officers and Chief Financial Officer on employment-related risk, trends, and strategic considerations in a public-company context.
  • Provide employment law support to the Board of Directors and Compensation Committee, as appropriate.
  • Shape and implement compliant enterprise-wide programs to create a culture of high performance and aligned with company values and talent philosophy.
  • Employment Law Counseling Advise Human Resources and people management on all aspects of employment law.
  • Advise on employee mobility, remote workforce issues and multi-state and global compliance.
  • In partnership with Human Resources, proactively identify and mitigate employment law risks.
  • Stay up to date on relevant employment laws, regulations, industry trends, and disseminate relevant implications to key stakeholders.
  • Public Company & Executive Matters Advise on executive employment agreements, severance arrangements, change-in-control provisions and related disclosures.
  • Advise the Compensation Committee on executive compensation, benefits plans and other Board-level compensation matters in collaboration with Human Resources and Finance.
  • Partner on employment aspects of SEC reporting, proxy disclosures and governance matters.
  • Advise on whistleblower, retaliation, and sensitive executive or high-risk matters.
  • Investigations, Litigation & Risk Management Conduct and oversee internal investigations involving employment issues.
  • Manage employment-related litigation, arbitration and mediation, including determination of strategy, budget and outside counsel.
  • Lead responses to audits, regulatory inquiries, and government investigations related to workforce matters.
  • Partner with Human Resources to develop and monitor employment-related risk mitigation frameworks, metrics, and controls.
  • Policies, Compliance & Programs Partner with Human Resources to draft comprehensive policies, SOPs and other guidance documents or communications that effectively translate complex employment law concepts into actionable frameworks for internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with Human Resources to review and update employment policies, employee handbooks and workplace standards.
  • Partner with HR and Compliance to implement training programs on harassment prevention, DEI, code of conduct, and workplace compliance.
  • Partner with engagement and learning teams to lead cross-functional trainings on employment law responsibilities.
  • Oversee global employment law matters in coordination with ex-US employees, regional counsel and other outside advisors.
