About The Position

The Executive Director of the Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO) at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is responsible for the overall management, sustainability, and strategic direction of the organization. This role focuses on advancing financial inclusion for refugees, immigrants, and low-income individuals through innovative lending practices. The Executive Director will lead a team of over 20 professionals, ensuring compliance with fiscal and legal standards while fostering partnerships to enhance the financial health of clients and communities.

Requirements

  • Masters/post-graduate degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in micro-lending and financial services in the low-income market.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in management or operations of a CDFI.
  • Demonstrated program development and management experience in financial education and micro-lending.
  • Proven success in securing public and private funding.
  • Experience managing multi-million dollar budgets.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with community development financial institutions (CDFIs).
  • Knowledge of financial inclusion best practices.
  • Strong network within the financial services sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement CEO's business model and strategic plan.
  • Foster innovation and creative solutions to serve customers and support partners.
  • Engage in strategic problem-solving with the CEO Board and IRC leadership.
  • Oversee organizational strategy and policy to promote economic wellbeing of CEO customers.
  • Ensure fiscal health and manage risk effectively for CEO's portfolio.
  • Develop policies and procedures for CEO operations and ensure compliance.
  • Direct all aspects of business operations, business development, and customer support.
  • Attract investment and cultivate donors to maintain sustainable funding.
  • Represent CEO to external parties and advocate for fair financial systems.
  • Drive adoption of innovative technologies to enhance business processes.
