About The Position

The Executive Communications Business Partner serves as a strategic liaison between the Marketing & Communications team and the Memorial Health CEO and Board of Directors, and coordinates internal and external communications for these executives. Enables informative, timely and effective communications that support executives in realizing strategies and business goals of Memorial Health System, consistent with Memorial Health System standards of excellence. Working closely with the Specialist of Executive Communications & Thought Leadership, guides the planning, coordination, execution and at times creation of executive materials to ensure they are strategically aligned, efficiently delivered and clearly communicated to stakeholders. Uses best practices for high-performing executive communications professionals that embody the Memorial Health System values of Safety, Integrity, Quality and Stewardship, in support of our mission, vision and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, writing, business or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in internal, corporate or executive communications required
  • Ability to serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior executives, including the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to guide the creation of complex organizational priorities for clear, compelling executive-level messaging.
  • Sound judgment in messaging, tone, and timing, particularly in high-visibility or sensitive situations.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proven ability to develop content for speeches, talking points, presentations, board materials, and executive correspondence.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, credible relationships with executive leaders, Board members, and internal partners.
  • High emotional intelligence and professionalism when working with senior leaders and confidential information.
  • Skill in navigating complex organizational dynamics and competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Power Point, Excel and other programs identified by the department and organization for communications functions.
  • Proficient in all adopted internal communications programs and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Director of Internal and External Communications in executive communications strategies and relationships.
  • Develops and maintains productive relationships with the CEO and members of the Board of Directors, and partners with internal teams (marketing, media relations, digital, internal communications, legal, and compliance as needed) to ensure coordinated, accurate communications.
  • Guides the development of proactive CEO and Board Member communications plans, with standard work around expect quarterly and annual needs, and remaining nimble for special projects.
  • Plans, drafts, coordinates, and supports the development of CEO and Board level communications, including speeches, board materials, talking points, presentations, reports and key messages.
  • Provides strategic counsel to the CEO and members of the Board of Directors on messaging, positioning, tone, and timing across internal and external communications. Anticipates communications needs and proactively recommend approaches, tools, and messaging solutions.
  • Clearly understands the voice and priorities of the CEO and that of the collective Board of Directors and spokespersons within to effectively guide the creation of executive materials that are authentic and carry through a shared Memorial Health leadership voice.
  • Ensures CEO and Board communications are clear, concise, accurate, and aligned with Memorial Health System’s strategic priorities and standards of excellence.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of executive communications processes, templates, and standards.
  • Collaborate with the Specialist for Executive Communications to provide strategic, day‑to‑day support that elevates the communication experience for MH executive leaders.
  • Supports documentation of processes, team standards and cross-functional workflows. Holds consistent meetings and touchpoints with department managers, team members and business partners to align on workflows, deadlines and to keep work flowing smoothing among the department leads.
  • Maintains up-to-date records of project status, timelines, and deliverables using adopted team project tracking tools.
  • Adopts and uses the latest departmental shared trends in executive communications and writing, internal communications and corporate communications social media and implements innovations to continually advance the work and improve the experience provided.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for executive communications functions. Together with MarComm Business Partners, serves as a resource on committees, task forces, meetings and activities to assist the system with achieving strategic objectives.
  • Maintains professional affiliations as appropriate. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in continuing education, in-service meetings/seminars and workshops.
  • Performs other related work as required or requested.
