Oaknoll has a new opening for an Executive Chef within our Dining Services Department. Interested applicants should submit their applications before 12pm on March 16th. As the Executive Chef you'll do far more than coordinating the kitchen staff across our 5 separate venues; through your leadership and exemplification of our values you will ensure the highest quality of cuisine and dining experiences across independent living, assisted living, and our nursing home care. Through these experiences, you help to CREATE home for our residents and staff, building lasting relationships and strong communities. Oaknoll is a not-for-profit community that provides resident-centered care and services through our CREATE culture. CREATE is an acronym for our values: caring, respect, enthusiasm, awareness, teamwork, and encouragement. We believe that people should experience joyful, active, and connected lives as they age. We believe people should have the opportunity to receive competent, caring, and compassionate health care when they need it. We believe our community is both special and unique because of the people who live here, the people who work here, and the relationships that they build together. We strive to make the lives of our residents and our staff meaningful and fulfilling. If you want to share in these values and the relationships that they allow us to build, we are looking for YOU! Oaknoll is seeking a full-time Executive Chef to join our Dining Services team. This is a salaried position, and working some holidays and weekends is not only expected, but will be required. The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing menu development and execution across all dining venues, catering/banquets, tray service, and all other food service operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, taste and presentation and the cleanliness and compliance of all kitchens and equipment. They will need to actively monitor market demands/trends, incorporating best practices and proactively seeking to enhance Oaknoll's reputation as a retirement community of choice, known, recognized, and sought after for our exceptional cuisine. Working together with the Director of Dining Services, they will develop and execute strategic visions for the Dining Services Department, ensuring financial viability and positive relations with Oaknoll residents and their families. They will need to develop and execute exciting, creative menus, including chef's specials, incorporating organic and locally sourced ingredients as appropriate and developing our front of house staff's menu knowledge with each addition or change. They will manage all kitchens and kitchen staff, establishing and delegating kitchen duties, coordinating necessary training, managing schedules, ensuring hours coverage, and enforcing clean, sanitary, and safe work practices.
