Job SummaryFor over 20 years, Levy Restaurants has partnered with American Girl, operating as one team with shared values and goals. The flagship American Girl Chicago location is seeking an Executive Chef to lead culinary operations in a friendly, fast-paced environment. American Girl is a premium brand creating experiences that inspire and engage children through play. The dining program features a child-focused prix fixe menu, high tea, and family-friendly brunch. The Executive Chef leads all culinary operations, from menu standards and team development to execution and guest experience. This role is the visionary behind the food program and a key driver of performance. The ideal candidate is an experienced culinary leader, strong coach, and commercially minded operator.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of culinary leadership experience
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge and evaluation skills
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Financial and operational acumen
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Passion for hospitality and guest experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the culinary team
  • Drive food quality, operational excellence, and financial performance
  • Ensure kitchen safety, sanitation, and compliance standards
  • Partner with purchasing and finance on cost control and menu strategy
  • Execute and uphold recipe standards
  • Manage inventory, par levels, scheduling, and labor forecasts
  • Maintain kitchen procedures, equipment, and food safety protocols
  • Support revenue growth through social media and guest engagement
  • Collaborate with regional, home office, and cross-functional teams
  • Deliver training, onboarding, and performance management
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and support team communication
  • Ensure compliance with FDA guidelines and minimize product loss
  • Manage culinary budget and administrative responsibilities
