Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education required. Minimum of 2 years formal culinary schooling preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of two years prior experience as an Executive Chef with knowledge of most international and domestic dishes.
  • Ability to obtain necessary sanitation, liquor service, or food service certifications.
  • Considerable knowledge of mathematical skills and basic computer operations necessary to interpret reports and budgets and software as it pertains to inventory control, menu creations, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of menu development, insight to marketing, cost, wage control, food products, standard recipes, and proper preparation.
  • Ability to analyze, forecast data, and make judgements to ensure proper payroll and production control.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in extreme temperatures.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies; distinguish product, taste, texture, and presentation; and observe preparation.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all food meets high standards for taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Interview, hire, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff to meet productivity and cost standards.
  • Actively listen to client and staff feedback, implement improvements, and maintain strong team communication.
  • Monitor staff performance, product quality, and workflow, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Audit inventory, enforce health and safety regulations, and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships for consistent quality.
  • Stay updated on culinary trends by dining at local and regional establishments.
  • Oversee food preparation, presentation, and operations during peak periods and special events.
  • Other duties as assigned
