About The Position

The Executive Chef is responsible for the organization of the kitchen with emphasis on cleanliness and efficiency. The Chef is accountable for all food quality, food cost and kitchen labor, along with the continuous development and training of staff. The Chef provides persistent creative drive in accordance with the vision set by the Resort Executive Chef, Resort President, Resort Owners and guests’ expectations. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent training certificate required. Culinary college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a managerial culinary role.
  • Food handling and sanitation certificates preferred
  • Excellent record of kitchen, and staff management, is required.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) is required.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Creativity and innovation in menu design and guest experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-end hospitality environment
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to excellence
  • Organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be able to stand on feet for a minimum of 10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute seasonal, coastal-inspired menus emphasizing fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients
  • Lead, train, and inspire a high-performing culinary team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and service standards across all outlets and events
  • Oversee all kitchen operations including production, banquet execution, and à la carte service
  • Manage food and labor costs, budgeting, inventory control, and vendor partnerships
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Ensure all guest special requests and dietary restrictions are met seamlessly
  • Create & maintain a positive work environment
  • Support all other resort culinary operations where necessary
  • All other duties as assigned
