About the position

The Executive Chef at Holy Cross Hospital Mountain Point is responsible for overseeing culinary and nutrition services, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and managing the operational needs of the dietary staff. This role involves creating service standards, conducting audits, managing staff performance, and collaborating on menu development to enhance guest satisfaction while promoting sustainability and reducing food waste.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer culinary and nutrition services.
  • Assist with creating patient and retail service standards, ensuring they are met.
  • Conduct sanitation audits and performance audits on a consistent basis.
  • Identify current learning needs and opportunities for staff, directing and managing processes accordingly.
  • Follow purchasing agreements and compliance goals set by departmental leadership.
  • Direct all patient non-interactive positions and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain communication with staff and customers regarding service levels and promote patient satisfaction.
  • Conduct frequent patient rounding and visitations.
  • Ensure regulatory standards are encompassed in nutrition programs and coordinate with other departments.
  • Maintain adequate staffing for daily needs and manage staff performance.
  • Conduct job shadowing audits to assess training efficacy and provide coaching as needed.
  • Collaborate in menu development for patient, cafeteria, and catering services.
  • Participate in hospital committees as indicated by department policies.
  • Oversee and plan menus for special events and catering, traveling to other campuses as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leader.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred, or commensurate experience in lieu of degree.
  • Food Handlers Permit must be obtained within 30 days of hire if required by local health code.
