About The Position

The Executive Chef II at Providence Hospital in Waco, TX, is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment, and preparing meals according to corporate guidelines. This role requires a dynamic culinary professional who can lead kitchen staff, manage food inventory, and maintain compliance with health regulations.

Requirements

• A.S. or equivalent experience
• Minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
• Extensive catering experience
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience
• Institutional and batch cooking experiences
• Hands-on chef experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends
• Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office and the Internet
• ServSafe certified

Nice To Haves

• Experience in high volume catering
• Knowledge of food cost controls and presentation

Responsibilities

• Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
• Follows standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards
• Completes and utilizes daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
• Tastes completed meals to ensure quality
• Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety and sanitation
• Establishes and maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas
• Maintains inventory of food and non-food supplies
• Makes decisions regarding utilization of leftover food products
• Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations
• Follows facility, department, and Company safety policies and procedures
• Participates and attends departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs
