You will prepare or direct the preparation of meals in accordance with corporate programs and guidelines. Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience (degree or training may influence required years)
  • Demonstrated success in high‑volume or complex foodservice operations
  • Ability to teach, coach, and train culinary team members at various skill levels.
  • Excellent soft skills, communication, and guest‑engagement capabilities.
  • Proven experience managing food and labor costs, inventory, ordering, and vendor communication.
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends, quality standards, sanitation, and cost‑control practices
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities

Nice To Haves

  • A.S. degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional experience
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full culinary program, including menu planning, execution, ordering, inventory management, and cost controls
  • Develop and implement regular and modified menus in accordance with established guidelines
  • Ensure all food is prepared using standardized recipes, proper portioning, and presentation standards
  • Complete and utilize daily production sheets and waste logs; conduct tasting for quality assurance
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on food preparation, safe food handling, equipment use, and regulatory compliance
  • Establishes and maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas. Ensures that kitchen staff follows and completes schedules as assigned
  • Maintain accurate inventory of food and non‑food supplies within budget guidelines while ensuring adequate stock levels
  • Manage proper utilization of leftover food products according to company standards
  • Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures as evidenced through local health department and third-party audits
  • Enforce all facility, departmental, and company safety policies, including incident/occurrence reporting
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff development sessions, and professional training programs as needed
