About The Position

The Executive Chef I will lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring the overall success of food preparation, recruiting, and training. This role requires an inspirational and organized leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to deliver show quality food while developing and empowering the onsite staff. The Executive Chef will work to continually improve resident, employee, and client satisfaction while maximizing financial performance in all areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • A.S. or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
  • Extensive catering experience is a plus.
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on chef experience is a must.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office and the Internet.
  • ServSafe certified is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily culinary production in preparation and production of meals, ensuring food quality and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulations.
  • Provide direction on menu development based on product availability and create distinctive specials.
  • Monitor all produce and meat for freshness and maintain product consistency.
  • Prepare and cook foods of all types for regular and special guests or functions.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of business strategies aligned with the client's mission.
  • Manage department controllable expenses including food cost, supplies, uniforms, and equipment.
  • Create 100% resident satisfaction by providing team members with the training and resources they need.
  • Establish goals including performance goals, budget goals, and team goals.
