Central Synagogue is seeking a seasoned Executive Assistant who will report directly to the Executive Director (ED). This role is pivotal in providing high-level administrative support, which includes managing the ED's calendar, coordinating travel arrangements, and handling expense reporting. The Executive Assistant will also oversee critical functions related to Board management, governance, and synagogue-wide calendaring. This position requires a strong communicator who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, capable of working independently, and possesses a keen attention to detail. The Executive Assistant will regularly interface with senior staff, board members, and the congregation, necessitating a flexible, resilient, and proactive attitude to address the diverse needs of a large community. The Executive Assistant will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including managing the ED's inbox and responding to emails, coordinating internal and external meetings, and ensuring prompt responses to correspondence. Additionally, this role involves supervising the receptionist, who manages the main phone line and office supplies, ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed efficiently. The Executive Assistant will also manage the scheduling and coordination of all Board activities, ensuring that meetings are well-organized and that all necessary documentation is prepared and distributed in a timely manner. In addition to administrative duties, the Executive Assistant will play a key role in developing an annual calendar of key synagogue events, working closely with other staff members to ensure effective planning and communication. This includes logistics for High Holy Days and other special events, where the Executive Assistant will participate as a vital member of the administration team, ensuring successful execution of these significant occasions.
