The primary purpose of this role is to protect homes and businesses by performing exclusion services that identify and seal pest entry points, repair structural vulnerabilities, and install preventative barriers. By combining elements of inspection, light construction, and customer service, you will play a key role in keeping pests, rodents, and wildlife out of the communities we serve.

Requirements

  • Clean-shaven face (for safety—respirators must seal properly)
  • High school diploma or GED; related experience in construction, handyman work, or pest control preferred
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence
  • Availability to work Monday–Friday and occasional Saturdays
  • Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills to present information clearly to customers and team members
  • Basic math skills — ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals (important for following product and repair specifications)
  • Licenses/certifications as required by federal, state, or local regulations (provided by Terminix)

  • Prior customer-facing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspections: Conduct detailed property inspections to locate potential and existing pest entry points.
  • Exclusion Services: Perform sealing, caulking, flashing, and other structural repairs to close off pest access.
  • Wildlife Management: Safely install, monitor, and remove exclusion devices and traps, ensuring humane handling practices.
  • Construction and Repair: Complete light construction projects, such as repairing minor pest damage and reinforcing vulnerable structures.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to explain inspection findings, describe recommended solutions, and ensure satisfaction with completed work.
  • Service Delivery: Maintain accurate service records, operate equipment safely, and adhere to all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current on industry practices, safety procedures, and exclusion techniques through ongoing training.
  • Working around animals, insects, and rodents
  • Working in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, or narrow passageways
  • Setting up and building exclusion traps, cutting flashing, and forming hardware cloth to specifications
  • Removing animals from exclusion devices
  • Working in a safety harness on rooftops as needed for exclusion services and wildlife removal
  • Completing production forms documenting services provided
  • Occasionally working around mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals (training provided for safe handling)
  • Moving up to 50 pounds by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or repositioning objects
  • Maintaining balance when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or uneven surfaces
  • Pushing, pulling, or hauling objects with sustained force
  • Working both inside and outside in varying weather conditions with company-provided gear
  • Regularly sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using ladders, scaffolding, or ramps
  • Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including OSHA-compliant respirators
  • Safely operating a company vehicle and maintaining equipment cleanliness
