We are looking for a dynamic Excess Buyer to become a vital part of our vibrant Purchasing team, working remotely across the West Coast. Join the energy and come be part of the momentum! As an Excess Buyer, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and purchasing excess inventory while actively prospecting new suppliers, building long-term relationships, and driving revenue growth across your region. This role is ideal for someone who is commercially minded, relationship-driven, and proactive, with a strong ability to spot market opportunities and turn them into profitable deals. Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in procurement, excess inventory, or semiconductor distribution.
  • Strong understanding of the electronics supply chain (OEM, EMS, distribution).
  • Proven ability in vendor prospecting and relationship development.
  • Commercial mindset with strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills (analysis, pricing, data handling).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal English required).
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing network within OEMs / EMS / distributors in the assigned region.
  • Experience working with shortage, EOL, or LTB components.
  • Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a strong pipeline of excess inventory suppliers (OEMs, EMS, distributors) within assigned region.
  • Proactively prospect new vendors through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with suppliers to secure consistent deal flow.
  • Source, negotiate pricing, and purchase electronic and mechanical components in line with company margin targets.
  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring strong communication and follow-up.
  • Maintain and update all supplier, contact, and deal information in the ERP/CRM system.
  • Drive account growth in terms of revenue, gross profit, and engagement level.
  • Identify and execute speculative buys aligned with confirmed or forecasted customer demand (shortage / EOL / LTB opportunities).
  • Collaborate closely with Sales to match inventory with active demand.
  • Review excess BOMs to identify cost reduction opportunities and margin expansion.
  • Analyze market trends to identify high-value parts, constrained components, and premium brands.
  • Evaluate product applications to expand resale opportunities across multiple customers and industries.
  • Manage purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements in compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of goods ordered, received, and in transit.
  • Provide regular updates on pipeline, deals, and vendor activity to management.
