It explicitly prohibits such employers from hiring a person serving in a position which involves regular contact with students unless the employer conducts a review of the employment history of the applicant by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
Requirements
- 48 College Credits or an Associate's Degree or passed the State Title I Paraprofessional Test
- Experience working with children, along with an interest in education and love for learning
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Successful experience working in a team setting
- Ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community
- Ability to work with teachers to plan, organize and implement responsibilities effectively
