The Roger Bacon Academy is an education management organization that manages multiple charter schools in southeastern North Carolina in Leland, Whiteville, Southport, and Wilmington. Classical Charter Schools of Leland is taking applications for Expectional Children Teachers (Elementary K-5). Job Description – Fulfillment of Mission: We are seeking outstanding applicants to teach Exceptional Children who have a degree in Education with a heart to inspire young minds! A sign-on bonus is being provided to applicants who are certified to teach in NC. We have a dedicated Beginning Teacher Coordinator and also a staff of Academic Coaches to work alongside teachers to provide engaging ongoing training and support. This position also qualifies for an annual stipend in addition to our competitive supplement to the NC Salary Schedule. Job Priorities: This Mission is furthered in accordance with the priorities observed in all aspects of school life: Safety, Character, and Scholarship and in unfailing adherence to the School Pledge. Purpose: The Exceptional Teacher provides special education services to students identified as disabled in accordance with state and federal regulations. Work involves developing and implementing the Individual Education Program in classroom settings that are compatible with the student’s age and developmental level. The EC teacher is responsible for developing lesson plans, adapting materials and designing activities to assist EC students develop appropriate academic, behavioral, and social skills and to meet their IEP goals. The teacher is responsible for monitoring student’s progress and for maintaining EC records in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Reports to EC Director.
