About The Position

The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, and present instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development. The teacher will manage instructional time, student behavior, and instructional presentation, while also monitoring student performance and providing feedback. The role includes facilitating instruction, interacting within the educational environment, and performing non-instructional duties as needed.

Requirements

• Degree in education or a related area qualifying for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
• Ability to use various classroom tools and equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
• Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom.

• Experience in managing classroom behavior and instructional time.

Responsibilities

• Manage instructional time by preparing materials and supplies for lessons and maintaining a high level of student engagement.
• Establish and enforce rules and procedures for student behavior and participation.
• Present lessons effectively, using clear language and relevant examples to facilitate understanding.
• Monitor student performance and provide timely feedback on in-class and out-of-class work.
• Develop and revise instructional plans based on data-informed practices and student needs.
• Interact fairly and effectively with students, co-workers, parents, and the community.
• Perform non-instructional duties as assigned and adhere to established laws and policies.
