About The Position
RIPA & Associates is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team in Tampa, Florida. As a civil and utility construction company, we specialize in a variety of projects including commercial, multifamily, residential, and public sector developments throughout Central Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for operating track hoe equipment and various types of construction machinery, including front end loaders, rollers, and bulldozers. A key requirement for this position is prior experience working with underground piping systems, such as deep sewer, water, and storm drainage. You will be tasked with loading, unloading, identifying, and distributing building materials according to project plans and specifications. As an Excavator Operator, you will work collaboratively with other skilled workers to complete assigned construction tasks, and at times, you may be required to work independently, necessitating the ability to read and interpret instructions and plans with minimal supervision. Your essential duties will include arriving at job sites and meetings punctually, operating heavy equipment safely and appropriately, ensuring trenches are excavated to the correct depth and grade, and following the directions of the ground crew regarding craning, gravel placement, and grading. You will also be responsible for conducting trench work that meets Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements, performing routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, and documenting pre-shift inspections. It is crucial to maintain compliance with all safety procedures and company policies while treating clients and co-workers with respect and integrity. You will be expected to respond promptly to service requests and assist in problem-solving situations as they arise.
