Day Shift Excavator Operator
About The Position
Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. Operate excavators to safely dig, load, move, and place materials according to site requirements. Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and basic maintenance to ensure equipment reliability. Follow site plans, signals, and operational directions to complete tasks accurately. Maintain awareness of surroundings and adjust operations to changing ground or weather conditions. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate activities and support production goals.
Requirements
- Capability to operate excavators and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong situational awareness and commitment to established safety and operational procedures.
- Ability to read ground conditions, follow instructions, and complete tasks with precision.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills in an active work environment.
- Adaptability to outdoor working conditions and changing operational needs.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background check.
- Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
