About The Position

Sequoia Services is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to operate CAT excavators ranging from 320 to 356 size class. The ideal candidate will have strong machine control skills, a solid understanding of excavation and site preparation, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on construction sites.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years experience operating excavators (CAT 320–356 size range)
• Knowledge of excavation, trenching, and grading
• Ability to read site plans and follow grade stakes
• Strong awareness of jobsite safety and OSHA practices
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

Nice To Haves

• Experience in site development or heavy civil construction
• Experience with GPS machine control systems (Topcon, Trimble, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CAT excavators (320–356 class) for excavation, grading, trenching, and material handling
• Perform site preparation, digging, trenching, and loading tasks according to project specifications
• Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and project instructions
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
• Work closely with site supervisors, grade crews, and other equipment operators
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all safety procedures
• Assist with general site work when needed
