About The Position

AP Plumbing is seeking an Excavator Operator Helper for their Syracuse, NY, location. The equipment operator helper safely and efficiently assists the excavator operator with equipment as needed on our job sites. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience with sewer and water repair required
• Experience operating an excavator required
• Valid driver’s license / clean driving record
• Excellent written, verbal, and active listening skills
• Strong administrative skills
• Technical knowledge
• Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
• Problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Safely assist Lead Operator on job sites
• Utilize hand tools and other equipment to dig and probe for utilities
• Follow all OSHA and AP safety policies and procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure proper storage
• Assist with other areas of excavation and service as needed
