About The Position

California Western School of Law (CWSL) in San Diego seeks applicants for Exam Proctors. Under the direct supervision of the Registrar, the Exam Proctor will be responsible for administering examinations to students. This position is part-time and seasonal, where proctors will be working during the midterms and final exam periods. Shifts may include but are not limited to; day, evening and weekends (Saturday). Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions is required.
  • A thorough knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic arithmetic required.
  • Motivated, highly organized, and a self-directed individual with excellent interpersonal skills who can effectively multitask and handle a variety of matters independently, in a professional, polished, and mature manner with tact, diplomacy, and appropriate judgement.
  • Attention to detail and a degree of accuracy are crucial.
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work in a team dynamic.
  • Aptitude for learning new technology, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Administer exams to students following established exam protocols.
  • Provide verbal instructions to students that are accurate and clear.
  • Monitor activity in the classroom and building hallways during exams.
  • Maintain control in high tension and deadline situations; be quick to think and respond with appropriate judgment; bring issues immediately to the attention of the appropriate staff member.
  • Maintain a high standard of professional confidentiality and integrity.
  • Work with the appropriate level of assistance.
  • Proactively advise the Registrar’s staff with potential issues and regular updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
