About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Environmental Services, the EVS Worker implements and maintains a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors by adhering to strict infection control standards, properly managing waste disposal and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the hospital campus. The employee must: Follow procedures / processes established by the Manager of Environmental Services; Keep assigned areas clean and hazard free; Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies; Track cleaning solutions by open and expiration dates; Store / keep cleaning solutions following established benchmarks; The Environmental Services Worker must be able to perform / work in an efficient and friendly manner. The employee must also: Maintain clean and sanitary conditions through attention to detail; Demonstrate the ability of perform repetitive cleaning tasks while standing for extended periods of time; Maintain a positive attitude and interacting respectfully with patients, staff and visitors; and Ensure that all duties are completed efficiently and on schedule. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Hospital EVS experience is desired but not required.
  • CHEST certification is desired but not required.
  • Current AHA BLS certification for Heart Saver is required.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, electronic health record).
  • Demonstrates ability to read, write, and clearly express one’s self in English 100% of the time.
  • Additional languages are desired but not required.
  • Demonstrates ability to listen.
  • Demonstrates ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken work, to impart oral information to others or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
