About The Position

Responsible for the collection, washing, drying, folding and distribution of residents/patient's clothes and linen.

Requirements

• No formal education required, only the ability to follow instructions and directions
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Must know how to use laundry chemicals.
• Able to keep assigned areas in a condition complying with corporate standards.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Laundry Services experience is desirable but not essential. Employee can be trained through in-service education.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold and return residents/patients clothes.
• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold and return to designated areas all facility linens.
• Label all resident/patients clothes.
• Maintain clean and neat work area.
• Conforms to all safety and fire regulations.
• Reports to Director of Environmental Services or Facility Director all defective or damaged fixtures and properties.
• Ensures safe operation and prescribed care of machinery (maintaining equipment in good operable condition to include cleaning lint traps) and judicious use of all detergents.
