Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six or more months of hospital cleaning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver the best in customer service and patient care.
• Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors and other employees.
• Champion HCA's mission, vision and values; comply with the policies and procedures, ethical standards and code of conduct set forth by the company.
• Maintain hospital and departmental equipment in clean, good condition.
• Disinfect and clean the facility following the CDC, OSHA and Infection Control Guidelines.
• Ensure the esthetic and aseptic standards are met throughout the facility.
• Responsible for economical use of supplies.
• Follow BSI precautions when handling trash, soiled linen, and bio-hazardous waste.
• At completion of assigned duties, report to manager/supervisor for additional projects.
• Participate in emergency preparedness drills, and actual emergencies as instructed.
• Follow all hospital and department safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Pick up trash, linen, and bio-hazard waste from soiled utilities, transporting in covered containers for final disposal outside the hospital.
• Label bio-hazard trash according to DOT guidelines.
• Keep transportation containers clean and disinfected.
• Use extreme caution when transporting trash, linen, bio-hazard waste through the halls.
• Perform set-ups as needed in conference rooms and outside meeting rooms.
• Report any spills or improperly bagged waste to the manager/supervisor immediately.
