About The Position

Forefront is excited to offer an opportunity for a PRN EVS Technician to join our Environmental Services (EVS) Team at a facility in Livonia, MI. In this role, you will play an essential part in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment by ensuring linens and laundry are properly handled, contributing to the overall care of our residents. Pay Rate: $15.00 Summary/Objective: Provides daily laundry services for the residents to ensure a safe, clean and sanitary environment in accordance with laws, regulations and facility guidelines.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year laundry experience in a healthcare setting is desired.
  • General knowledge of laundry and infection prevention.
  • Verbal and writing abilities necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents, family members and the public.
  • Motor coordination and manual dexterity are required to operate housekeeping equipment.
  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow directions and work assignments.
  • Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation.
  • Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily laundry services to residents in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Gathers and weighs soiled personal items, linens, garments, etc. and places in appropriate containers.
  • Sorts stained items for treatment/stain removal.
  • Folds, hangs and distributes personal items, linens, and garments to resident rooms.
  • Follows the facility’s laundry schedule to ensure timely services to the residents.
  • Reports any repairs needed to equipment to EVS Director/Supervisor.
  • Cleans equipment and work areas as assigned by EVS Director/Supervisor.
  • Participates in activities related to ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Be knowledgeable of Federal, State, and facility’s rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Attend in-service educational programs.
  • Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties.
  • Understand facility’s fire and disaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
  • Perform other department duties assigned by the EVS Director/Supervisor.
