The Housekeeping Associate III is responsible for the general appearance of resilient floor and carpeted surfaces in corridor, patient rooms, public areas, offices, treatment rooms and any other areas deemed necessary by the supervisor. Performs terminal cleaning of Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, Intensive Care Unit, Electro Physiology Labs, Labor & Delivery Rooms, Labor & Delivery Operating Room, Recovery Pre-holding, Behavioral Health Units, or in assigned areas in accordance with standard departmental procedures and hospital objectives at the Medical Facilities. Performs stripping and waxing of floors and other floor tech responsibilities. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Responsibilities General Functions: Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas using prescribed methods. Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and have repairs made when necessary. Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures. Applies proper infection control practices and isolation techniques. Performs other assigned tasks Accounts for cleanliness and neat appearance of assigned areas, insures that the schedule is complete, and instructions from the supervisors are followed. Utilizes tools, supplies and chemicals for their intended purposes so that equipment and hospital property are not damaged. Uses good judgment and proper procedures in the performance of assigned tasks. Supports the mission and vision of the Baptist Healthcare System and demonstrates excellent customer service at all times. Understands and enforces system, departmental and hospital policies and procedures as well as established rules and regulations. Trains in other functions or positions to ensure satisfactory operation of the department/work unit or to permit flexible staffing assignments. Complies with System and facility safety policies and rules; utilizes appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; reports all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function. Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment and to perform duties and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Completes assignments independently and works as part of a team; takes instructions from supervisors; exercises problem-solving skills; and interacts with co-workers, supervisors, patients, vendors and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.
