The EVS Supervisor directs housekeepers in accomplishing the housekeeping services of the hospital interior and related hospital properties as well as coordinating, assigning and monitoring projects in patient, clinical and public areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED and technical school background.
  • Current Pennsylvania driver's license.
  • Two years of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Strong supervisory administrative skills.
  • Two years of experience in a hospital environmental services setting.

Responsibilities

  • Directs housekeepers in accomplishing the housekeeping services of the hospital interior and related hospital properties.
  • Coordinates, assigns and monitors projects in patient, clinical and public areas.
  • Responsible for the efficient and effective utilization of assigned personnel, equipment and supplies in carrying out housekeeping operations.
  • Maintains a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Plans, coordinates, assigns, and monitors projects in all patient, clinical, and public areas.
  • Guides the development of the staff through instruction and direct training.
  • Responsible for personnel administration including performance evaluations, work schedules, and payroll time recording process.
  • Responsible for department quality assurance and process improvement activities.
  • Coordinates the disposal, transfer and/or storage of hospital furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Performs some duties of staff being supervised on an as-needed basis.
  • Interviews job applicants and investigates and assesses recommended terminations of employees.
  • Responsible for testing and making recommendations on products, systems, and procedure changes.
  • Performs preventative maintenance duties on equipment.
  • Develops operational procedures for equipment.
  • Directs a safety program and holds regular staff meetings.
  • Attends in-services and programs as assigned.
